does my audi a4 have a bose system

hi there be grateful if someone could help me. i have an audi a4 2001 tdi sport 130 was just wodering if this has the bose sound system or how do i find out

Its probably got a Bose system, but whether it has the optional Bose system is different.

Do you have Bose badges on the speaker covers? That's usually the way to tell.

My A6 has a factory Bose subwoofer in the boot, but it doesn't have the optional Bose package.

Also, if you use this, you can find out what options are fitted to your car. If there is no mention of a Bose system, you haven't got the optional package, just the base.

The list will be on the inside cover of the service book or on a sticker in the spare wheel well.

As Kite says. Most option codes are 3 letters in length.

As Paul b said it will usually have Bose branded speakers and the head unit should display BOSE when you first switch it on.

Alternatively, take a couple of removal keys and pop our stereo out.

On the back there will be 4 sockets, one is a vertical 10 way, three are horizontal and stacked one on top of the other, the lowest of these is the 8 way power ISO, in the middle is the 8 way speaker ISO, at the top is the 20 way mini ISO connctor.

If you have a plug in the centre section of these three (only 4 central wires will be in use if you do) then you have the half amplified system, if that position is unoccupied, then you have the BOSE system.

Dee is right, although it can be worked out with a simple options decoder rather than going to the effort of taking the stereo out (yes I can do lazy

).

The fact that the stereo says Bose is not a sure way to tell. I temporarily fitted a Concert 1 stereo which lit up and said Bose. The original Concert 2 (fitted again just a day later) doesn't say Bose. I think that just depends on the stereo.

hi there i dont think my sound system is bose as it doesnt have the badges on the speaker covers but when i bought the car it had an aftermarket stereo is there any problem fitting a concert stereo back in to it and will it matter what year of audi it comes from ie. mine is a 2001 a4 can i fit one from a 2002/20003 a4/a3? appreciate if ye could help
