Hi, today the internals of my cat have broken free and are now rattling around in the exhaust, does anyone know if its safe to drive and also has anyone had to replace one on their car and if so how much might i be looking at to get it fixed. My car is a 2001 2.0 gti golf, thanks in advance for any help.

I'm no expert here but years ago i had the same thing only i didn't notice and the bits blocked up the box/silencer and ended up costing more!

    I would'nt drive it.

Hi mate get it done asap as it can block your exhaust, as for cost expect £300-£500 to have it done.
