Hi, hope someone can shed some light onto a very annoying problem, basically i am getting a lot of water into the rear boot of my 1996 Audi A4 Salloon.

I have had the car 5 years and the problem has only been really noticable over the last 6 months or so, if i pour water slowly onto the roof gutter towards the rear of the car so that it drains down the side of the rear window, it starts to drip inside the boot, i cant see where from because of too much metalwork spot welded (when you look up from inside the boot), but its leaking from fairly high up.

Now i know before i bought it, it has had a new rear quarter panel, joined halfway up the window, do you think this could be the issue, rusted join behind window or badly sealed? Where does the water go from the roof gutters, it looks like it goes behind the window plastic trim/strip, then where????????????

How much do you think it would be to remove rear window and dig deeper? Any advice greatly received.
