Can anybody help. Recently bought an A4 130 TDI . Just been looking under the bonnet at the engine, not that I know what I'm looking at. Noticed to the left of the power-steering resevoir and in front of the abs pump a frame to hold something, it's about 3 inches square(in old money)
Can anybody tell what could or should be there.
    Thanks renedrag

audi.jpg Picture as requested. Sorry it's not very good . But it might help you to identify it. What is the flux capacitor. Is it missing or is it only for models with a warp 10 factor.
    Cheers renedrag

I'm guessing its an option like the auxillary heater cage, but doesn't look big enough. But mine is the same as yours, so don't worry, nothing has dropped off.

I have strapped my HID ballast to it like Rick.

Make sure cambelt was done at around 60,000 miles. Keep the service up with a reputable garage or dealer and it should be fine for atleast another 60,000 miles.

Oh, water pump really should have been done at the same time as the belt. Just ask RickT
