I am a massive addict to this game.
I know it may not be to some peoples' tastes, but I absolutely love it. I've owned 06,07 and now 09.

I've recently started a file with Sheffield United (WHY?? God knows). But it turns out that I finished 6th (1st season) and won the playoffs! Result!

Who else plays this? And what team are you currently?
Also, any tips on some great players?

I had the 05 version when it broke away from champioship manager, it contributed largely to me dropping out of my computer science degree. Got the 06 version which was a massive improvement. Haven't got any of the newer ones as i'm waiting to get my degree out of the way first. The 2010 version will be eagerly anticipated come october this year

I remember Adam Hammill of liverpool being a wing wizard and Freddy Adu was always worth a few million, but I hear he's not anything like what he once was in the game.

The game has a pretty good forum if you want to get some player tips. Just be careful where you post as not everyone wants to know that kind of stuff.

It has caused a number of rows between me and the other half, so I understand it may have affected your degree! It certainly affected my apprenticeship!

I shall have a look on that forum too... Normally I like to find my own bargins, but I just wanted to know if anyone else plays it and if they have won anything with youth.

Yeah, Fredy Adu is pants now. There are much better (and more expensive) players out there now.
This new one with the new 3D matches is great. I'll cerainly be buying next years one, even though I've only recently got this!

Do you ever find yourself talking about who you've bought and who you've beat, only for them to tell you to shut it as they don't care. It happened to me all the time.

Have you tried the Football live thing yet, it looks like a proper wife leaver game

Yeah it used to happen with me and my ex-workmate. We used to just chat ALL day aimlessly about players we had bought/results etc, and my other workmates just used to sit there and say, "you are so sad!" They just don't understand!

That Football live sounds great! I'm going to have to try it! Much to my OH's disapproval!

In my 1st 3 games in the top flight with Shef U, I drew 4-4 with Reading (was 3-1 up!) and lost 4-1 to Man U and lost 1-0 to Coventry in the league cup!

    Gonna be a LONG season...

I found myself quickly relegated again actually. Ended up getting stuck in mid-table obscurioty season after season in the Championchip so gave up with Shef U.

I'm now the mighty Napoli. (My favourite Italian team) and got to 4th in my 1st season, knocked out of Champions league in the quarters against Bayern Munich the following season, so not too bad, but then ended up 10th. In my third season I'm 11th in Feb. so not too good. Even though my team is ful of Wonderkids! grrrr... This version is so much harder than the previous ones!
