Can anyone assist, i was driving to the nec yesterday for the autosport show and the trusty 230,000mile audi 1.9 tdi avant started to show very high temp and was losing water.
Today i have located the problem to what apears to be a housing on the side of the head and i would say is a temp switch going into it the other connecting the hose to the top of the rad.
The part number is 028 121 133 i will also need the seal but i am struggling to find anyone who knows of a parts catalogue that i can look up online or do you think i should go straight to the main dealer.

    Many thanks

go to a dealer. things like that are often not available aftermarket, and people spend days on the phone and internet, only to find out the main dealer can supply them for a fiver!

Try Euro Car Parts as i have bought one from them few weeks ago. Take the old housing with you to compare or- if they cannot get it- order the part from dealer...

028 121 133 has been superseded by 028 121 132 and only costs £11 inc. VAT from the dealer and includes the seal. The aftermarket flanges tend to fail prematurely, I suggest you buy genuine.

Regarding parts catalogues have you tried www.vagcat.com?

They give the price in euros though.

Glad it sounds like a cheap fix!
