Are main dealerships noticing the effects of the credit crunch then? I had a service done on my A4 yesterday, and to my surprise my local Audi ******* were doing a £99 deal on it! That's less than half the usual price! Nice one!

Don't refer to them as ********...

And I've heard of this scheme before. The thing is they don't do the full job. Do you know what has been replaced? Probably just the air filter TBH, thats not a service at all really.

    Paul

P.S, if we're talking about Mercedes dealers, feel free to call them ********, I had a Merc A160 CDI I was soon selling, but I wanted to keep the full Merc service history to help it sell. They charged £500! AND all they did was change the air filter, pollen filter, wash it, valet it and put an air freshener in it. I didn't send it there to be cleaned!!!

They didn't even change the oil or oil filter! Mind you I bet Audi haven't either... but they only charged £99.

Agree 100% with paul b - In these hard times Audi dealers want to keep customers for service work as much as possible as they are starting to find it a little bit harder to sell New & Used Cars at the moment

But if you like their nice modern showrooms i.e. Birmingham Audi if you have not seen it, large is an understatement, we should except to be charged a Premium !!

'Dealerships' Earn a rather (admittedly in some cases, deserved) bad name, mainly due to the prices they charge.

You ought to bare in mind however, the overheads they endure, the little extra lengths they go to when completing jobs and the training/investment behind them.

Max, Can I ask, was it the main dealer you had your service done at?

Why did you take it to the Audi Dealer if you think there ********

True that some Audi Dealers will not get it right first time!!! But they have been improving over the last 3 years

I have asked the forum mods to treat the word "********" as if it is a swear word, you should not use the anonymity of this forum to slander or liable (whatever the correct legal definition may be) a company.

It's disgraceful behaviour, I know some VERY hard working VERY competent VW dealers and I can tell you I do get value for money, I have bought all my VW's from dealers in the last 9 years and have ALWAYS been looked after otherwise I would not go back.

I've just had the gearbox taken out of my Sharan and new synchros fitted at a cost of £980 and they lean't me a brand new car whilst it was being done, you couldn't buy from E Bay at that price and I have a warranty that they do stand behind.

The DEALER I use is Peter Cooper of Southampton if you want great service at a fantastic price that's the place to go.

I think the ******* here is me getting great value for money, if you can't speak of them in a way you would talk to their face may I suggest you refrain from posting.

The thing is, by doing that you've turned it into a "dealer or *******" thread, going totally off topic.

    I agree with Crasher.
