A pal of mine wants to buy a Mk4 GT TDI 130 Black, have found this one on auto trader.

    http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk...leRegLetter=52

What do we need to look out for on these and does every one think this looks ok from the advert.

Any comments would be most appriciated

    Many thanks in advance

Looks like a nice clean example. As long as the vehicle and finance checks are clean, together with a good look over from someone who knows about VW TDI's. Maybe it'd be a bit cheeky, but if you know someone locally with VAG-COM, get it scanned. May show up lurking problems. I guess, if the seller has nothing to hide, then they should agree to that.

Full history is a must, listen for knocking from rear axle bushes, drop links and anti roll bar bushes prone to go.
How many miles has it done?

Check correct spec oil has been used,PD engines have a thirst for camshafts and followers

Be extra vigilant in checking service intervals - if it's been on extended service intervals it could have had very few oil changes for the mileage, leading to cam wear in later life, as per previous post.
