Could anyone help me with little problem. I have recently purchased my cab and the roof motor is making the right noises when the switch is pressed but no movement. I cannot find a schermatic that shows any wiring or hydarulic circuitry or components.
Has anyone any ide what the probel may be and a possible solution.

Thnaks ad a Happy New Yaer to you all.

I might be pointing out the obvious but have you got the key in the ignition but in the off position? Even more obvious question; have you unlocked the 2 catches (big black metal handles) inside the car above the front windows near the top of the windscreen that secure the roof in place?

If you want to pull the roof up and down manually open the boot and look at the left hand side; there is a panel with a circular plug in it. Remove this plug and you'll see the hydraulic pump that moves the hood up and down. There is a brass screw on the front of the pump and if you undo this screw (by hand; no screwdriver needed) you can then pull the hood up and down by hand. Retighten the screw to rengage the pump.

    Hi YoYo

Thanks for taking the time to resond. I think I have identified the problem from searching the threads on this topic. The impeller in the motor is cracked and is not spinning and the rreservoir on the pump has a crack and leaks. Threads also identified part numbers and have ordered these from VW today.
I also found a website where for £9.99 you can purchase a full Golf manual that includes Cabriolets.
    Once again, thanks.
