    Hi,
i've just recently bought a 225 bhp TT coupe on a 99 plate and everything was well for about a week but recently it wont rev over 4000 revs without misfiring and juddering and no acceleration. The esp light also comes on at the same time and won't go out until the engine is switched off and on and it runs fine until you try to accelerate again past 4000. It only appears to happen when you really boot it. If you accelerate slowly then it will go past 4000, but it has to be really slow. At first i thought it might be the cylinder head gasket as the temp warning light comes on when it is first started in a morning, but having checked the oil then I think that may be the thermostat.
    Has anybody got any ideas?
    Paul

it could be your intake pipe is spilt or a coilpack on its way out.
