Audi Navigation Plus Issues - No Sound In RS6

Hi all

I have an 04 RS6 with the listed Nav Plus system (the CD version). I have power to he unit (although it does always ask for the code) but I dont have any sound on the CD, TV or Radio. Occasionally after about 30 mins the radio will start to emit sound.

It does give an RDS Tuner error. Any ideas of how to fix as i dont really want to pay Audi £100 per hour to fix it.

A bit of background, it did go through a stage of seeming not to have enough power to power up as it would reboot whist trying to play CD's.

I guess it must be something to do with the power as its asking for a code every-time i start the car (well 99.9% of the time). As much as I like to listen to my V8, I also want to listen to the Kaiser's

Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

The can bus is being interrupted so scan the fault memory first depending on the model the rds is external and may be corrupting the nav plus so it would make sense to disconnect the rds and see if the nav plus continues to request the 4 digit code.Most likely the rds has failed or the nav unit

Sorry for being a dunce, but how do i do that? Also, someone suggested disconnecting the battery for 30 mins as this will reboot the system?

If you wish to reset it disconnect the nav (for a good hour) only so you don't lose stored adaption channels for central locking (rs6 are prone to losing the speed lock function)and engine management

How do i disconnect the Nav only matey?

Remove the unit and disconnect the multiplugs if you dont have the radio keys you can buy them on flea bay

Just one thing. I have still not taken the unit out, but to be clear the NAV works, the only thing that does not is the sound.
