    Hello All

I have a Passat 1.9 TDI 2001. I recently had a service come up and reset the service clock while it was on 'SERVICE NOW' and then serviced it at a local garage.

Unfortunately the service clock has not reset to the milage it was supposed to , it is stuck on 'SERVICE NOW'.

Can any one tell me how to reset the service clock and specify my own milage. It will cost me £18.00 at the dealership for a 15 min job.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
    Naheem.

Unfortunately I have a VW Passat 2000 and it does not display the "IN01" or "IN02".

It is a digital odometer but does not work as per the instructions listed in the thread.

Do you have any more ideas.

If not then I think it maybe a dealership job.

    Thank you.

I did a quick google and came up with this

vehicles on fixed interval servicing can be reset as follows
Press and hold button "A" (positioned right of trip recorder display)
    Switch ignition ON
The word "SERVICE" will appear in the trip recorder display
    Release button "A"
Turn button "B" (positioned left of trip recorder display) to the right to reset the display
    Switch ignition OFF

Please let me know if this works.

    Hello

Sorry but no luck with releasing button A and then turning B to the right.

I'm going to phone the dealership and ask them first to tell me how to do it. It's a long shot but its way cheaper then £16.

I'll let you know how it goes. Also the instructions in the hand book are wrong for resetting the service clock and there is a warning about not letting the clock zero out or showing 'SERVICE NOW'.

    Will post back my findings.

    Thanks all

    Hi All

Well I finally spoke to the dealership and they told me it depends on what type of service the clock is set to. If it is long term then it has to be done by computer.

If it is done by time and distance then you can adjust the clock your self. Unfortunately mine is long term service.

I have booked it in to change the clock to Time and Distance so that I can change it later.

    Hope this helps
    Thank you for your help
