I have to reconnect my USB flash drive every time I start the car after it has been parked for a while. On short trips, there is a 50% chance that the USB storage device reconnects (initializes?) automatically.

Anybody else have this problem with their iPod or other USB storage device (hard drive or flash drive)? Is it my AMI, or a problem with my flash drive? I'm using an Audi-approved/tested Corsair Flash Voyager 16GB. Disconnecting and reconnecting my flash drive "wakes" it up immediately every time but that's a hassle to perform every time I start the car.

I am still troubleshooting with the USB flash drive, but my 250 GB Western Digital Passport Essential is working now. I had to sit in the car for a few minutes with the ignition on (engine off), to let the AMI scan or recognize the files. Now it starts up every time, after about 30 seconds after starting the car. Need to see if the same happens with my USB flash drive.
