    Hi,

I got my ibiza (53 reg se) in Feb 2nd hand and it has overheated twice- both times I've only put water in as I've no idea where to get G12 from, or if I can use standard coolant from Halfords?

If anyone could help me, a) where can I get G12 from and b) how much do I put in? Would I be better off waiting til the water runs out and starting over as I've no idea how much is in there.

    Thanks

Why has it overheated? Just putting coolant in is not a cure, you need to find out where it is going. G12 and G12+ can be bought from any VW, AUDI, Seat or Skoda dealer, any VAG parts specialist and Halfords sell a G12 equivalent.

I just assumed it was overheating as the water was bubbling away and evaporating?!

Well yes it is overheating but why? If you drive it like that you could destroy the engine. What is the engine code?

I really don't know, I have no idea when it comes to cars! it overheated once, I filled it with water, and it was fine for about 6 months or so. It passed its MOT today so I'm guessing nothing majprly wrong with it

An MOT will not look at with respect to overheating, the MOT is a safety inspection. To be sure you should get it looked at to make sure it isn’t overheating.
