Audi Multi Media Interface MP3 problems

I have a 2005 A3 with the Audi Multi Media Interface, DVD Sat Nav and MP3 card reader.

I have never been able to get it to read all the music I store onto my MP3 card. Despite there being loads of albums on the card the stereo only seems to find half of them randomly. I have loaded all the music as MP3 format and can't understand why it's doing this.

I have contacted my local Audi dealership and they weren't much help at all. Any suggestions would be great, thanx.

For a start you dont have MMI, you will have the RNS-E nav unit.

How many albums is "loads"

What is the total number of files on the SD card? You cant have more than 512 (400 in some cases) or it wont read them.

Some Mp3 files with the latest version ID3 tags also cant be read so try changing to an earlier version if you havent exceeded the file limit.
