    Hi Guys

    Any ideas how I can solve this rather frustrating problem? Whenever I put on the rear window demister then FM stereo reception is greatly interefered with and radio becomes unbearable because of static.

    Is there a simple solution / problem for me to look for else am I adding this to a list of items I need to talk to me dealer about?

    2 possibilities;

    1) There is a shunt that prevent's electrical feedback that is fitted to the supply rail for the heated screen. It may have failed.

    2) The contact between the amplifier and the screen can be poor, which may introduce interference, that is highlighted when the screen is powered up.

    tis usually the rear screen at fault, the lines on the screen corrode and this can cause interference

    I have had this problem since my rear screen was taken out for paintwork, it completely destroys Radio 2 reception, not good! The windscreen blokes snapped off the tags and they soldered them back on, I don’t think they did a good job of it.

    I am searching for a solution to this same problem on my A6 (2006 model). Audi diagnosed fault as rear screen. I had it replaced by Autoglass (as dictated by my lease company) but it didn't fix the problem. Audi checked it again and reported that the new rear screen is not an approved Audi part and therefore can't continue with diagnostics.
    If anyone has suggestions for remedy I would be delighted.

    Update July 2011: The solution (by Audi main dealer) was to replace the rear screen with a genuine part. Hey presto! Radio reception was restored and problem gone!
