    Hello
This is my first post. Ive been looking for answers in desperation. MY MkV TDI golf came up with the emissions control error. took it for major service to Dealers, 500 quid later they said that the Intake manifold flap was faulty... so I decided to take it to an Independent Specialist.

Car still running 100% fine, drop it off with them, they ring me later to say they cant start it, do i have some wierd type of Immobilizer????

I went round there - as they said - it turned ver but would not start.

Next day they hooked it up to VAGCOM, eventually got it running, got some data , told me Intake mainfold flap was faulty, blowing the fuse, so they replaced it. Car started and drove well.

But since then - it will only start when cold, you can start it about 4-5 times, after that, no joy. When hooked up to the diagnostics, you can see the parts iof the ignition system coming on line, get a brief blip on the glowplug light , and then it starts.

After a few times, no action on the glowplug light, and the VAGcom shows sections all greyed out, car will not start....

Expert has had it 4 weeks now - getting desperate without a acra, He has replaced Fuse box in engine, a couple of relays, new battery, Intake manifold flap, nothing is working,

Has anyone else seen anythink like this??

Oh yes - forgot to add. The fault codes werer cleared, and now the only fault code showing is 1413??
Also- the engine does crank over well when key turned, battery is good.

After it fails to start, engine fans come on at full speed for some minutes. Wondering if this could be Temp sensor or similar? Mechanic is convinced that it is ignition key related?? Car has only got 30K on the clock...
    Any advice appreciated...

1413 is not a valid code. Vag-Com will offer a fault description.
