Something strange is going on, I just upgraded my phone to a blackberry Bold. It has contacts on the sim card, but for some reason they won't register on teh dash?

Previously I had a Palm Treo and it was fine.

Anyone know how to resolve this?

Is there anyone that can help me, or any other forum that might have this kind of knowledge set if I'm posting in the wrong please.

    thanks for your advise.

I believe it is something to do with the bluetooth softwear version on the phone. I recently bought the N95 and had the exact same problem so had to swap it for the more basic Nokia 6500. The phone will still connect to the car but i couldn't use the button on the steering wheel, it said "Button Not in Use"
If you call an Audi dealership they will send you a list of compatable handsets.
    This is really annoying!!!!
    Good Luck.

It is the version of Bluetooth on the phone. Another workaround is to get a another sim and place in a cheap phone that works ok and leave it in the car. Then use this one when driving.

is it that the phone has a version which is too advanced then?

good idea re the sim card in another phone, but a bit of a pain as it would mean two different sim card accounts?

I wonder if it would work if you bought a cradle that fits your new phone. Not sure if this still uses bluetooth to connect or if its hard wired to the car????
In the end i sold my N95 on ebay because i couldn't find a fix.

The new Bluetooth version is only on some handsets apparently! (in my experience it seems to be the more expensive range of phones etc..)

You could always buy a new Audi B8?

I was also thinking that about the cradle, but I don't think they do any Blackberry Cradles. Shame really, as that cradle in the armrest has always been redundant . bit of a waste really.
