My pollen filter was sorted out under recall and I removed the grommets in the plenum chamber to cure a previous water leak. Now I have another leak problem, six months after dealing with the grommets. My drive is on a slope and, if the car is parked facing uphill, then the carpets get wet. I have now trained myself to park downhill and the carpets dried out - no problems even in torrential rain and no problems if parked on the flat. Took the car on holiday and left it for three days parked uphill with the result that the passenger side carpets were squelching with water. It's eventually dried out again now that the car has only been parked downhill for a few months. I can live with this but anyone got any suggestions?

Have a look at the rubber grommet on the wire which opens the bonnet.

Just had a look but it's on the driver's side so would appear to be unlikely

Not much help. These cars are **** for leaking. I can park mine under cover at work more often than not. I take full advantage of this.
Mrs QV's MX5 has never leaked like my Passat
    One German, Two Italian.

It still has to be the pollen filter housing?

Was it repaired using the D-shaped non setting rope applied to the underside of a cleaned off housing and then replaced.......or was the seal used the closed cell foam as originally fitted? Have you resealed the ECU.........My 2002 Estate was done under Warranty in 2004 with new carpets and I know that they did pollen filter housing , ECU and Bonnet pull grommet. It has remained dry since. I never park under trees and clear drain holes once a year.
