Im off to Dublin later today, ie 9:00am for the day..... back in the evening...

Mrs Mint and I had a date trip to Prague, flying out of Birmingham Airport. Arrived Prague approx 0900hrs, coach transfer to and tour of city and then left to wander around until 1800hrs ,when tranfered back to airport. Home approx 2200hrs. Airplane not used for any other flights during the visit so allowed to leave surplus baggage on your seat whilst in the city.

Lapland with the grandkids a few years back sticks in my mind.
It was a magical place and seeing the kids faces when they met the "real santa" was a joy to behold.

Back from the trip...

Great day out, really good weather..

Went to the Gunniess Muesum again, (my mate had not been before) which is always a good do...

Then we just spent the afternoon from pub to pub while taking in the world go by drinking the "black stuff"..

Headed back to the airport at around 7:30pm for our flight home..

In regards to people, your right.. the city did not feel like Ireland at all, it really did feel like we was in a easten europe city, i was amazed to see some many people from easten europe there.... whther it be tourists, workers or just hanging around... it did feel like we could of been anywhere in europe.

I like the Guinness picture . We went in the early 90's and all you said applied to our visit except the Guinness factory was closed .

Best day trip was a stag do in Amsterdam

Paris does it for me everytime do journey about twice per year, 1 hour drive to euro tunnel 35 minutes later in calais bombing the way down to Paris.

No later than 4-5 hours total and generally in a cafe somewhere having breakfast.
