Hi i have a 1998 Passat Estate 1.9TDI Sport, i want to be able to have a hidden power supply to power my Satnav / phone charger. I have bought a 4 way 12v splitter which currently runs off the cigar lighter. I want to be able to wire this in somewhere (hidden from view) so when i start the car it powers up. All i want to see is a couple of black cables poking out of the trim. Please can anyone advise anything or an alternative way to do this?

    regards..

Remove the lower dash panel (4 torx screws) and you'll see an array of fuses and posts.

Post 75x (yellow) is switched live. Ground is anywhere on the bodywork.

It should look something like that. 75x is in the bottom left of shot

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.

Perfect! Your a star! So i can connect directly to this. Do i need to use an inline fuse for what i am trying to do? So far i have had no leaks on my passat, just a problem with the rear luggage light as posted seperatly..

Yes, you'll need a fuse, unless each item has it's own inline fuse.
