I bought an A6 a few weeks ago from what i beleive to be a registered trader.
The car has now developed a small problem, the indicators have packed up and it's proberbly a relay, but i feel this should be covered by the 3 month cover that by law a trader has to give.

Has anyone any knowledge of this or advice please ?

    Thanks in advance

I don't think used cars are covered by this, but may be wrong. Your warranty may not cover it either unless it specifically states relays if that is the problem. definitely worth taking it back to the dealer they should have a duty of care you would have thought

used cars ARE covered by the 3 month statutory warranty, but this only covers the usual failures, a (fairly) cheap relay would probably not be covered, for what it's worth, I'd replace it myself.

For future reference, it may be worth checking if the person you're buying from is actually a dealer before making the purchase, to retrospectively try and do this is going to be difficult.

If it is the same as my Audi A4 (2000) then the indicator Relay is built in to the hazard switch and is a pain in the but to get out but can be done with patience and very flat screwdrivers to slide down either side.

Spookily enough I have one sitting here as I bought one for my car, lost it, bought another then found the first one again!

They cost about £28 but if I am allowed to sell this here then £20 and I will ship it down to you.

    Part number I have is 8D0 941 509H
