    Hi Crasher

    Thank you very much !

Then I think that the problem I have is related to that pump.

    The problem is described here:

It has always stated immediately, but within the last months, I first a couple of times observed that when I tried to start the engine it was just firing for a few turnings and then got out - just like it was able to run with that diesel which was in the pump but no new fuel got to the pump. Next time (after half a second) I tried to start no problem occurs.

One time it was not able to start - engine just turning but no ignition. After a few attempts it’s started ok. - In the mean time I had to move the car a few meters - so I turned the starter while the var was in 1. gear - and in these way moving the car.

For two weeks ago it wasn’t able to start at all. I tried a lot of time (more than 10 times in 3 hours). Then I changed the button switch in the ignition barrel, and after that it was starting OK. (But this time I also moved the car manually - and thereby shakes the car)

The other day it wont start again, And now I have left it, and hope a friend of some of my friends will come with a diagnostic program so that we can read out errors codes.

But in my opinion the problenm is the electric feeding pump.

If you agree (or disagrre) please tell me

    Regards Ole

    Hi Folks

Tried to get the errorcodes read by a frind to a frind. He wasn't able to communicate with the engine part from the computer, bt okay with the other parts - eg ABS.

But he mesioned just like smokey0123, that the most common fault would be "relay 109", which tae the fuel pump - and some more thinks i gues. Actually the realay smellled at bit burned.

Todat i gor a new relay - actuelly a new type since the old was to weak - price aproximate 10€ and now it it running - and the best if i pun in the old relay again it aint working.

So again a happy T4 ownwer

    Hey guys.
Trying to hijack this 8 year old thread.
I have a T4 2.5 TDI that only starts on starter spray.
When I get it started with about 2 wifhs of starter spray, it runs and drives perfect with no engine / Warning lights.
When turning the ignition on, the glow plug light is lid only for about 1sec !!!
BUT, I measured the power to the the plugs and they are getting 12V power for about 5+ sec.
    Replaced all glow plugs.
    Replaced fuel filter.
When I tried to prime the fuel filter, I found that there was no fuel coming from the feeder pump in the tank, when I turned the ignition on.
Is it safe to assume that there is either something wrong with the power to the feeder pump or the feeder pump itself ???
The pump should turn on when you turn the Ignition to "On", right ???
As the car runs after using starter spray, its safe to say its not relay 109 ??

No engine / Warning lights when its running, so I did not perform a DTC read.
What is the normal operation of the feeder pump? Does it turn on for a few secs when you turn the ignition on, like on a petrol regular car?

Just because the MIL does not illuminate does not mean that there are no codes stored plus using a suitable system you can see the data for coolant temperature and Commencement Of Injection timing.

Which year and engine code is your T4, ACV, AJT, AUF, AHY, AXG, AYY or AYC?
