Has anyone retro fitted Coming Home/Leaving home lights to an A4 B7?

I have been told how to fit them and also add auto lights etc, but this will cost me to much, i want a way as simple as this one I have found for the A3?

    http://audiretrofit.googlepages.com/cominghomelights

Fancy getting them on before the winter comes....

    Anyone help?

    Wow!!

    That looks amazingly simple!!

Give me a bit, Gonna have a look at some wiring diagrams and find out what they have done and see if the A4 has something similar

Worth a try I guess?! The only slight fault with that is that it operates the function regardless of wether its day or night. The OEM feature only works in the dark.

Thankfully its not a retro-fit I need as mine has xenons+coming/leaving home function already! Back to try to retro fit BOSE instead then.....!!

Well, the A3 has the coming home switch which switches the onboard power supply unit to earth. So, basically all you need to do on the A3 is add the switch or bypass it witha wire then program it with VCDS.

The A4 seems to be a bit more complicated in that I cannot find a "Comming Home Switch" which connects the On board power supply to earth

    Will keep looking though.

    Ok guys,

Have been trawling through the wiring diagrams and have found a buried reference which says "Only applies to models without automatic headlight switching with coming home function"
And as far as I can see, all it does is applies 12v to one of the pins on the headlight switch!! I am going to investigate this further before I say yay or neigh to this, but it does look like there is an option to have coming home without auto lights!!
This is only on vehicles with the Highline power supply from 2004 onwards that I have found so it may not be the answer for everyone.
Once I get my car back from the garage and after my long weekend in London I will have a look and see if I am brave enough to try putting 12v into a random pin because I think I've read a wiring diagram correctly
Actually, I will host the PDF version of the diagram and ask for your opinion first, but I haven't actually got a web space, so once that is set up I will post a link!!

Patience, and we may get it!!

When leaving your car the lights stay on for 30 seconds or so after you lock it so that you can see to get your house key in the lock...

    Hey Flakmunky,

Yeah, have got that one bookmarked as a future retro

Was reading through it last night as I was checking the wiring diagrams, but that was definately needs the auto dimming mirror to work.
Looks like I'm not getting my car back until Monday so will ahve to wait until next week before I can try this out.
Might be worth looking through VCDS to see if there is an option to switch on Coming/Leaving Home and trying it. Would depend on how the switch was set to switch on and off!! Could get lucky, you never know
