ipod confusion audi models

i have noticed there are lots of questions about ipod integration for Audi models so I will offer some advice on what you can retro fit at this present time.

OK YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR MMI SOFTWARE VERSION BECAUSE IT NEEDS TO BE RUNNING AT 3460 AND ABOVE SO I WOULD ADVISE YOU UPDATE TO THE LATEST RELEASE UPDATE 4L0 998 961

Code the gateway for media position 2 and clear all your fault codes and test.
The ami fits beneath the arm rest and your just bridging the diagnostic wires and most cables at the multi changer which the pre made loom fits lovely.Also you will need your ami lead for the ipod connection

NOW ADDED MMI 3G AMI ACTIVATION
ami lead part number 4f0 035 909 (just check to make sure the securing clip comes with the lead to locate the dock in the glove box)

this lead plugs direct into the 5f control unit so no need to splice wires etc

the glove box has a pre cut position so you can remove the glove box find the pre cut and push the insert out and locate the ami ipod dock

then plug the ami lead into the ami and refit the glove box

now you need to access the hidden menu in address 5f

select address 5f

select adaption 10 channel 6 and set the value to 1 and save

now reboot the mmi using the softkeys

when the mmi comes back on press and hold set up and car until the green menu comes on

scroll down find diagnosis and enter then select settings and then scroll down to ami set this to 7/8

come out of the green screen and reboot mmi

now test the ami

total cost around £170 + vat



Update

Ami retro fit kit official audi p/n 4G0051960 for mmi 3g also if the dealer does the retro fit the code changes via svm will now make the mmi 3g coding permanent

AMI CAN BUS GENERATION 3 RADIO VERSIONS CONCERT/SYMPHONY CAN SUPPORT AMI (audi music interface) as of 2009 week 22/08 part number 8K0 051 592.
Retro fit to 2008 model is not possible as the software dosnt support ami or any external music source

Hi,
I have a 2007 A4 sline se which I ordered with ipod connection in the glove box. I have for a year been using an ipod shuffle with no problems but I just bought the new nano and it doesn't seem to work in the car.
Is this because the car needs an update for it to work?
Is this something my Audi dealer can do?

According to the latest brochure I should be able to order AMI for my new (not yet ordered) A4 S- line.

But the dealer is telling me that you can't have AMI without Sat Nav

Can anyone tell me which is correct

Dealer is incorrect you can have ami with generation 3 radio without nav

Hi, I have purchased a one year old Q7 SE, Bose sound system, off road pack +++ (last Friday) and listed in the specification from the dealer is the "Audi music interface".

I have searched everywhere and can locate no connector for the Ipod ?, I have checked the glove box ,and there is nothing within the center arm rest ( CD changer is in the dash) ?.

Can you advise if this interface is located anywhere else.

Hi there ... Ok i need help ... i have an Audi A3 (V Reg 1999) with the audi concert sytem, no cd changer installed - i desperately want to try and connect my shiny new ipod nano to the system, i know you can i just dont know how or what i need ???
