    Can anyone help, i can not find the diagnostic socket in a 10/2006 2.0l 85kw VW Golf MKV

    my bosch software says it is located behind a pannel on the left hand side of drivers foot well, i can not find it

    It is always the simple jobs that take the time

    Stick your head in the driver's footwell and look up. Look just above the accelerator pedal.

    in the center console, above the coin tray, behind the rectangular plastic trim

    Surely that means you have a Mk4 Golf??

    The Mk5 definately is located in the drivers footwell above your accelerator pedal!!

    Yep that is very definatly a MKIII or MKIV if the diagnostic is located there.
    Who want's to tell him his Mk V he bought isn't lol
