I was advised on MOT that I need to get the anti roll bar links changed.. In order to change these, is it neccersary to have the weight of the car on or off them? They look a bit awkward, any comments please...

better access with the wheels off, if doing it curbside. a small jack maybe required to lift the roll bar back up to get bolt back in as they do drop a bit on dismantling.

ive done 3 sets of these on different cars, doddle to fit, they usually twang when they are removed so mind those fingers, rubber usually splits causing lube inside to leak and they just break down through dryness.

i'd always recommend doing them yourself because they are so easy to do

Front or rear? They are really easy to change, lift both front or both back wheels off the ground depending on what 1s your changing this takes the stress off the anti roll bar. WD40 on the old 1s also makes taking them off a bit easier.
