Just wondering if anybody can help me with my alarm issues.I have searched the forum and can't find the answers so far....
My car is a 1.8t GTi 2002 and just wanted to find about the alarm system.

When I lock it or unlock it the car chirps. Is there anyway to disable this to stop me annoying the neighbours at 6am in the morn?

I also dont seem to be able to disable the interior motion sensors. Is there any way of knowing that the little button on the B pillar inside is selected and therefore disabling the motion sensors?

Final question, when my alarm goes off it is a siren and not the horn, does this sound like the factory standard alarm because I am not sure how to find out if it is an aftermarket kit?

Go into 46 - Central convenance then 10- Adaption change the numbers in channel 5 (Interior monitoring), channel 6 (unlock beep) and channel 7 (lock beep) from 1 to 0 to turn them off. (1 means there switched on)

the solution for this has been, very accurately, described above for you.

the way to do this is turn off your engine, take out your key, press the button on the pillar and lock the car, your interior motion sensors will be disabled. Note, that once you unlock the car again, the sensors will return to being 'enabled' , you must press that button every time you want them disabling.

this is perfectly normal, the mk4 golf does not use the horn as it's alarm siren.
