Drivers side window only works whe it wants to!!

When you push the button for teh window to go down you can here a click coming from in side teh door but teh window doesnt budge.

Some times if its cold it will work, if teh suns been shining on the door it wont.

I htink it may be the window motor but not sure. any one got any ideas??

This happened on mine ('94 coupe 2.6), the window on the drivers side would work as & when it wanted to! I don't recall any clicking sounds though.
It was in the garage a little while ago & they put the window down, which then refused point blank to go back up, so I figured while it was there they may as well get the door card off & have a look as it had been 'swearing' me off with its unpredictable behaviour. To stop making a short story long, the motor was 'tatered & a new one is about £100.
I've enquired at a scrap yard as to whether it's the same as the motor fitted in an 80 & was told it wasn't, which was bloody annoying as your more likely to come across an 80 than a coupe.
