Audi A4 misfire pot 2. Coil burns out every 3 months. Can anyone help?

hi,

get the ignition coils changed for the latest geniune ones.

this is denoted by the letter at the end of the part code.

sorry cant remember off top of my head, had these fun and games last year, always coil number 2 for some reason

they are about £25 - £30 each

Hi Barney. Do you stil have the car and did it solve the problem. I have replaced the coil with an Audi coil but still blows. I keep getting an error code 17766 cyl 2 ignition circuit open circuit. Did you have this too and if so what was causing the open circuit

yes i do still have the car and it did solve the problem, so far anyway.

i owned the car for about 18 months before anything happened, then it blew a coil on 2, then 3 or 4 went also. i bought some pattern part coils, ok for about 3 months then blew again.

Researched this and found the very latest audi coils have fixed this problem (this shouldnt be happening at all really!!)

job done, £120 odd later

i could probably find the code for you later. cant remember what vagcom code i was getting mate. i was carrying a notebook in the car for ages so i could tell which coil had blown by the side of the road.
