    Hi

I have a 2.0 TDi Altea and am thinking of getting it either chipped or remapped.

I have seen the various websites that you can buy a 'plug in chip' and they claim to do what appears to be the same as having the engined remapped ?

I am wondering if the chips work or if a remap would be better ? also can anybody recommend somewhere in central Scotland that is not charging a fortune for a remap.

Any remap open days coming here ?

    Thanks

i can argue for the chips, having just been visited by simon coe i have to report that my 110 passat is an absolute (or upsolute) flyer now!! hammered it to work a few days after having it fitted and it does about 3-4 mpg better on my usual A road 30 mile trip to work and 30 mile back, saw 64mpg on the way home in traffic, im young ish and dont hold back if there are slow cars in front, he came to my house, fitted it, we took it out and tested it and read the codes again to see if there were any problems and there were no new codes but i have a 00539 fuel temp sensor code from before, so the car still isnt up to 100% yet, when my kit comes to fix it i'll be even happier, how often can you say you just went for a drive for the hell of it in a diesel? im seeing no extra smoke, same miles per gallon and i didnt have to subject my car to a rolling road session to get it done, took about 2 hours ish, well happy
Subaru broken, sold, Silver Seat Leon Cupra 180 '02' no cupra badge?
