Just back from a lovely two weeks on the west coast of America. The good citizens of the US of A are up in arms over the price of fuel, they are paying on average $4.50 for a gallon - oh my heart bleeds for them......

Does it...? Then let's do the math...

    - 1 US Gallon = 3.78 Litre's.
    - Cheapest petrol I've seen around is £1.17 per litre.
    - £1.17 x 3.78 = £4.42 per US Gallon
    - The current conversion rate is $1 = £0.5071
    - Therefore; $4.50 x 0.5017 = £2.2819 per US gallon.
    - £2.2819 / 3.78 (litre's per US gallon) = £0.6036 per litre...

Which is half of what we are paying... My heart doesn't bleed for them. I'm friggin jealous...

£0.60 per litre seems very low... but no matter how many different ways I calculate, I always end up with the same figure...

The US gallon is more than the UK gallon,

So they probably pay less than 60pence

When you say more than the UK gallon, you mean cost or volume? Because both are wrong

The fuel in the US is cheaper than here and the US gallon is smaller than the UK or imperial gallon. I don't need to check this on the internet or anywhere as I have ****** in a few American urinals in my time and they say Flush capacity 1 Gallon 3.8Liters
    One German, Two Italian.
    It's a Mercedes Benzzzz though
