lock up yer... petrol tank

My neighbour had the plastic tank on his van drilled last week, they made off with £110 of diesel.

The vehicle was in line of sight of multiple CCTV/thermal cameras, but nothing was recorded.

my truck holds 2000ltrs but its on the road most of the time,

Had this a couple of times on my mini (there's no anti syphon or anything on them, you take the cap off and you can see the fuel)

Both times they trashed the petrol cap which cost more to replace than the tank of fuel! (although not anymore)

Most modern cars (made in the last 15 years) are fitted with an anti syphon device, however it's not particularly difficult to just cut the pipe off the tank or drill a hole in it.

I can see this becoming more common

If we are talking old cars then a Hillman Imp would be best as the tank is inside under the bonnet and you need to lift the bonnet to fill it
