Here's a nifty little tool for watching the BBC's iPlayer through and indeed on your PS3:

    http://ps3iplayer.com/problem/browser.html

You can even see it in full screen.

Picture is ok, not as good as normal TV but just as good as a laptop.

How do you rate the PS3 prolfe?

Aside from gaming, what other benefits does it boast?

I honestly rate it very highly.

Aside from the fact it can play games, which are getting better and better I might add.

I have a shed load of piccies on there that I stick on a slideshow, one of 4 - one of them the photo's look like they are thrown down onto a table - looks cool.

I also have a load of music on there that I can stick on when people are round. Played through a Denon Receiver and Mission bookshelf speakers. Loud as yo like. This also has two visualisations - one of which is cool - has the earth in full HD. Oh and I can stick my iPod in to it and play all that.

The internet is quick and easy to use. A wireless keyboard with trackpad makes this easier. My Laptop boots quickly - 25 seconds to logon, then another few while background apps load. BUT the PS3 is way beyond this. 8 seconds to boot and 2 more to select the internet. So, 10 maybe 15 to get to the page you want.

on top of what this can offer already it plays Blu-Ray discs.

LoveFilm or even Blockbusters have loads of bluray films with more and more and more coming out all the time. Especially now that HD DVD is dead.

Natural Earth on Blu-Ray - I challenge anyone to show a better example of blu-ray.

    So.... it's not bad

The iPlayer makes it even more usable if you already use this on a pc or laptop. Or maybe you don't use the iplayer because viewing programs on a pc or laptop is rubbish - at least with the link at the top of the page you can view it on your telly.

oh an i have a webcam thing called a playstation eye - this is a microphone and camera - stills or video - free video telephone calls to your mates if they have them - my son can dance around as his on telly - or use the voice synthesiser to change your voice.

just looked at a shopping website.

    Bit pricy at the moment.

I hardly touch my ps2 so couldn't justify the ps3.

    I'm in the same boat.

360 looks good and the price is passable, PS3 looks better but the price is hellish as is the limited backward compatibility.

All of this is pointless until I upgrade my TV but I keep on looking

Considering selling my VCDS KEY-USB interface. If you're interested please contact me via PM or email.
