Touran boot light switch location

boot light n/w but ok if brown and red wire put to earth, does anyone have any idea the location of the switch, i have looked at the catch on the tail gate but no such wire comes up to t/gate any clues, thanks.

the switch is part of the lock mechanism: with the boot open lock the latch and the light goes out, open the lock with the micro switch on the release handle and it comes on..
on the lock conector pin 1 is centroal locking
pin 2 is for the light
pins 3 is earth
and 4 on the lock is the motor feed

so i would guess that if you check that you have 12v at the bulb then the lock is earthing the bulb when open - but I am no auto electrician.
