Vag Com needed Merseyside area BEER WAITING

As above I need to reset the throttle body on my 1998 1.4 8v Polo. I have cleaned it out and it revs to high now and won't start unless I use easy start. Preferably this weekend, there is a crate init for whoever can help me. Willing to travell anywhere in merseyside.

Just got a 53 passat and so far there are no problems with it, but me being me I like to poke around!

VAG-COM is a computer program that enables you to read fault codes, clear them and change settings on you VAG car. It is a very usefull tool as it can make fault finding easy. This is a very brief explaination.

VAG-COM is software and hardware that turns you PC in the equivalent of a factory level dealer tool. VAG-COM gives access to all the things the dealer tool can do with the exception of flashing of modules and of fetching the SKC/Pin code needed to code/match keys in immobilizer equiped cars.

With VAG-COM, you can read DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes), View, log and graph live data, code modules, perform basic settings and adaptations, perform output tests and much more.

I`ve just downloaded a copy of the software, where can I find a cable?

In fact I`ll probably just have a gander around on that website.

Anyone got any idea where the plug/socket is on this car?
