Just bought Audi A4 soft top

I wonder if someone can really help me.

I hav bought an audi a4 convertible 2.5tdi sport. Ive had it for 3 weeks. Last week I tried opening the roof and it opened and stopped 1 inch from fully openning. I then tried to close and it wouldnt.

I really did panic. and manually closed it. since then the on board computer is highlighting that the roof is not secure and the light is also flashing.

I took it into Audi Dealers and they tested to find faults and couldnt. So I have booked it in for an Dianostic (of course paying 45+VAT/hour). I hav it booked next week. Can someone help me pls? im just scared that this is going to cost me alot of money.

In addition the red warnning brake light is ocming on when I start the car cold. can someone help?

Hello all. I've just joined the forum to have this very question answered.

Exactly the same thing has happened to me, albeit after two and a half problem-free years of putting the roof up and down.

At the same time as the failure, the boot locks and now the indicators don't flash when remotely locking the doors.

Any ideas?

Just wait and see what the diagnostics say. You have done the right thing, no-one can make you do as the dealer suggests. At least you should have some idea then.

I would of thought if it had been serious the dealer would of found something.

Just looked when you posted this, I guess diag done what was the outcome?

Hi all, this is what I have the roof fails to open properly and I'm left with the message 'soft top not secure', what was the outcome of your problem

Wondering what could be the issue, as already had one lot of diags and a £240 bill for a sensor and it still does the same thing, so garage getting another call tomorrow
