    Hi,

im trying to sort this problem out.

i recently fitted a H7 ZENYO GT XENON HID CONVERSION KIT (ZENYO SUPER SLIM BALLAST) 6000k
    from http://www.hidshop.co.uk

sometimes when i turn on my headlights after installing the Kit i get the ABS, ESP and Handbrake lights come on. the handbrake light flashes on the main screen (wherer the car pic in the middle is on the attached pic.)

if i turn off the engine and restart then try the lights again, all is ok, but it happens again.

i heard that there is a resistor or capacitor to fix this issue, but cant find it.

anyone had this problem get it sorted out?

    thanks

    Thom

what resistor, where do i get this from and how much.

    where do i fit it?

    thanks

    Thom

i got an email from the supplier who said they never had a problem with them before on my model of car, and also it says on their website:

"This GT HID kit model EXL3512B collaborates with Zenyo and is an Exclusive kit provided only to the Hid Shop in the UK and no one else can stock this particular model.

This conversion kit is an exact replica of the Xenon System made by HELLA used in factory fitted xenon on Luxury cars.

This particular model includes the New Zenyo Super Slimline (19 mm) Digital Ballast model EXL3512B, which uses the same German Technology combined with very best Japanese HID bulbs on the market, bringing you the best of both worlds.

Therefore rest assure that you will get the highest quality product which is tested for reliability and durability in extreme condition, plus the ease of installation due to the unique design of the Slimline ballast"

does that sound like rubbish or what? i have changed my side lights to osram cool blue , but not LED lights or Xenon gas ones so i cant see them causing the issue.

i just bought a new kit. i tried everything i could think of to sort this and in the end im sick of it. i got the:

HIDS-DIRECT Ultra HID xenon converison kits for:
Astra mk4, Audi A3/A4, BMW e46,e39,X5, Volvo V70, VW Passat inc (2001-2005 Projector type).

from http://www.hids-direct.co.uk which i will fit as soon as it gets here.

i hope that this will fix my issue, and that i can enjoy peace of mind knowing that there will be no problems.

i have requested a full refund from the HIDSHOP.CO.UK.

the guy at the shop was helpful, but i couldnt resolve the issue , even after changing my sidelights to original ones. i didnt use led, but i saw that once i tried that , the LED just blinks, i assume there is something that can be done there if i choose to follow that route too?

hi all, I have just fitted a HID kit to my A4, I get the same warning even with the warning capacitors fitted, but only when they bulbs are cold. If they have been on a while and I turn the ignition off then back on again the warnings dissapear and the lights work fine. Could it be where I have sited the ballast ? would it interfere with any systems close by?

Oh I also have LED side lights which are fitted with built in resistors that stop the OBD system from recording a fault.

    Cheers jason

It is something to do with the siting of the ballast, as my multitronic gearbox and abs controller used to kick off when I switched on my HIDS

I moved the ballasts and everything is ok now, not had an error in 12 months

try and turn your HIDS on whilst the ballasts are not in the engine bay and see if it works

I got my HIDS from HIDs direct aswell, with the resistors and i have the brake warning light come on a few times when i first installed them and its been fine ever since!

Im sure i read somewhere its because if you mount it close to the ABS sensor, the ballasts current can sometimes trigger the warning sign when turning the lights on.
