Ok people, I think I’ve started using this site as my own Haynes manual because everyone on here is so helpful.

Ok, just picked up my new mk5 GT TDI 170 and am loving it, but I’ve been looking at the Vag Com system for a while now. I would like to look at the settings on the convenience menu, stuff like the welcome home lights timing as mine go off very quick. Also, if I get any problems (don't reckon I will, touch wood) I would be able to see what’s up. I’ve just downloaded the vag com software, release 704, because I didn't believe you could get freeware but now I want to get hold of a HEX-USB+CAN Interface but am finding the prices a bit steep. Does anybody know of any ideas where the best place to get one from, I know eBay is the place to stay away from

Any help would be great, thanks in advance because I know you guys will help.

    Dan

    Hey Daniel,

    Good choice of car!!

For a cheap cable I think Eshrules is the man to talk to!
I take it you don't have the highline computer? As you can change all the welcome home timings etc with that! Well worth the extra £50 or whatever it was!!

    Cheers
