I assume this is using a company allowance? If so I think what you suggest sounds like a plan as you do not want to be lumbered with it if the worst happens.

well,......found a honda accord, fully loaded, 15,800 miles on the clock, on an 08, can't find a Passat at any where near that spec unfortunately!, for £15,995, one owner, but......and its a big but the previous owner is Lex Viechle Leasing, and its down as a Honda Contract Car.
Said I would want a grand off the price, and an additional years warranty, what does anyone think, given some of the horror stories you hear with regards to ex lease cars would it be worth taking, drives and looks beautiful.

Sounds quite good, will of been serviced properly. Lease car, difficult. Not sure I would.

Ex-lease cars will have been well maintained but as you suggested I would definitely try and get the extra years warrenty as it would give you peace of mind! These cars arent always a problem but the more you can get the better really.

    Hope this helps!

Agree, my brothers company use lease cars and they are well maintained, but not taken care of by the drivers, saying that, an Accord with that low mileage shouldnt have had to much abuse and a decent warranty will put your mind at ease.

I like those Accords too, only heard good things

Unfortunately people do not look after lease cars as they would their own, however as Bobby said if there is low milage, the chances are it hasn't been ragged around. Going for a pcp over 5 years is good if you change your mind often as it gives that extra flexibility.

perhaps you could explain how getting into a 5 year PCP offers flexibility, when typically they require quite a substantial deposit and balloon payment at the end should you wish to actually own the vehicle?
