My daughter has a 2000 mark 4 Golf. About a week ago the windscreen wipers stopped working whilst she was driving in the rain ! Luckily she managed to stop ok.

The RAC attended and " tightened the nut on top of the wiper motor ". Now the wipers are parking eight inches up from where they should.

I have repositioned the nearside wiper by taking the arm and positioning slightly clockwise but still the same. As soon as I turn off the iginition they re park themselves eight inches up.

Anyone got any ideas ? Also I can't get the offside wiper arm off for love nor money, any tips ?

Hi ( tightened the nut on top of the wiper motor) He has tightened the nut with the crank arm in the wrong position. You need to loosen the nut, release the arm from the splines, position wipers in parking position, then retighten the nut.
