    Hi, I started my 01 Passat with the passangers seat removed. The airbag warning light now stays on as does the seat belt reminder light. Can I reset these without the OBD tool. Is there any sequence of proceedures for this like there is in the BMW.

    an airbag fault light is indicative of a fault with the airbag. the airbag is a safety feature, as we all know.

    Have you looked into the fault or had it diagnosed/repaired by a garage?

    you are aware that an airbag fault is an instant MOT failure and as such, should be looked at by a proffessional.

    That said, get the fault looked at and rectified ASAP, as you are endangering yourself and others not doing so.

    No, quite right it isn't an MOT failure YET but **** the car and get hurt due to a lack of air bag deployment and the insurance company may take a dim view of you driving with a safety system faulty.

    I know this post is way after the original, but I've had the airbag warning light come on in a VW Passat 2.0TDi 2006 model ;

    I looked on Rosstech but couldn't find anything to do with airbags, VagCom etc - where do I need to look????
