    Default Water Pump Replacement – 19-04-2008,10:42 AM
    Hi all,
    Would really appreciate someone pointing me in the direction of a "how to" guide (perhaps it already exists and I just can locate it) on replacing the water pump on my 1995 Audi 80 1.9tdi, SE Auto.
    I've started work on it and it seems like I need to remove the crank pulley, timing belt etc.
    It's turning into a much bigger job than I expected.

    Can some one please help?

    Looks like you are right and then it seems like you have to

    remove pulley from intermed. shaft to access some water pump bolts

    Ooops. there is another way. remove complete water pump assy. by
    removing bracket that is over power steering pump. remove bolts from
    water pump to block remove one plastic cover bolt. lift off water pump assy.
    no need to disturb timing belt

    may help next person with replacement query
