The boot lock barrell appears to be gone, when i turn the key in the lock it just keeps rotating and doesn't catch.
Since the boot is locked closed i can't get the plastic panel off to get in at it.
I've bought a new lock and have it here, does anyone know if you can get that plastic panel off with the boot closed?
If i bring it to a dealer do they have some way of opening it??
    Thanks a lot!!

i dont quite understand what you mean, but my boot usually opens by pressing the unlock button on the centrol locking control buttons in the car.
Failing that you can always get in to the boot by pulling te back seats forward.

    Stinger sorry i wasn't clear.
I've tried the central locking button iside the car and i can hear something moving at the boot lock but it doesn't open. When i try to use the key it rotates but won't open the lock. this means i have no way of getting the boot open at all. I know what you mean about the back seats which i've done but can't remove that plastic panel that covers the boot lock since the boot is shut/
Do you know if have any other options to getting at the lock? A mechanic has told me he could cut the plastic to get at it but if there's another way i'd prefer to do that
    thanks

you could try crawing in the boot and unscrewing the handles in the boot trim and prying the trim off to get to the lock but not sure if you will be able to get if off with the boot locked?
    no harm in trying
