I have Leon 1.4 2001 after VAG COM scan have found fault logged.

    Control Module Part Number: 1M0 035 186 C
    Component and/or Version: Radio 0001
    Software Coding: 00401
    Work Shop Code: WSC 06441
    1 Faults Found:
    00856 - Radio Antenna
    29-00 - Short to Ground
I replaced the stem as the rubber was starting to perish, and cleared the fault code, but, the code logs again. Any directions to solving the problem would be appreciated.

It is the base at fault. Has the car got the original radio?

Then I would think you have a faulty aerial base.
