Well, today I went outside in the ice and cold to go to work. The remote control didn't work to unlock my A4 Avant so I grabbed the spare thinking that it might be the battery. Nope! Car wouldn't unlock at all.

So I used the key to open the drivers door, but the door was frozen solid and wouldn't pull open.

I then unlocked the boot and an alarm went off (but not loud - what I thought was strange). Anyway, I got the boot open and climbed through the rear to the drivers seat. The drivers door then opened fine.

I tried the remote control and it still didn't work

I got into car and started driving to work when suddenly BANG!!!!! the rear window shattered.

So I have now got to call insurance company to replace window, then get it tinted, and then try to sort out the alarm problem.

    Rubbish, rubbish day!

Anyone have any thoughts on the remote control problem?

The chap who replaced the window last night said it could have been a stone or something. I think it was just bad luck.

The locks kind of sorted themselves out after a battery change. I'll just have to see if it will happen again.

At least today is going better
