Hi I have a 2004 T5 transporter TDI & need to replace the diesel fuel filter.
    My question is,
Will turning the engine on the starter self bleed the air out of the system or is there a procedure to bleed the engine.
Any help will be Great thanks---- Graham.

Have a look at the Fuel Filter Change Procedure on my Website.
I think you may have to turn the "ignition" key on and off a few times.
I presume you have a fuel pump in the fuel tank.

    Hello.
Change the filter, start it up. Job done.
As above, primer pump in tank tank fills the new filter. It might run a bit rough for a couple of seconds but it will soon clear.
