    Default wipers, indicators, horn etc not working – 03-04-2008,04:21 PM
    Hello all, I have just bought an A4 Avant 1997 tdi and am very happy with it. The only fault i can find is sometimes when i drive it the wipers, indicators, horn etc do not work. I thought it might be a fuse but when i switch the car off and restart it all is fine again so it cant be a fuse. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as i am new to German cars.

    Maybe due to some wear in the ignition switch. When they are not working and engine is running try turning the key small amounts and see if you can get them to work. If this is the case be a little careful. My brother had a similar problem but it caused the starter motor to pack up and so had to be replaced. We still haven't got around to checking the switch/barrel.......
