here is a link to ross tech's wiki page for your fault code

    http://wiki.ross-tech.com/index.php/16685/P0301/000769

dunno if it will help, but it will give you other areas to look at...

The car is with the garage now, they seem to think its the injector causing the problem. Thet say the passat has the same problem with its injectors. What problem??

    I'd get a second opinion.

The wiring looms to the injectors do break down. I hope they don't try and flog you an injector plus fitting for £500 or whatever when all it could need is a new loom.

I had the same problem in January - Misfiring. The car shudders when idle and engine running. They had to change an injector

For the last 2 weeks, my car had difficulty starting in the morning. Then Ion saturday i noticed the shuddering again when car is idle in traffic and car produced a lot of smoke. The scan at the Audi garage showed a misfire in Cylinder 3. They said it could be a faulty injector again (A4 1.9TDI has 4 injectors)...

    Gents,

As above, I'd suspect the loom first, especially when you have one injector fixed then mysteriously another fails. Note that the whole loom needs to be removed each time work is done to remove each and any injector.

what ur odo reading? could be glow plugs.. but that wouldn't cause a misfire, injector sounds more reasonable

Diagnostic from Audi garage today - A faulty injector again!

If you say it may be the loom wiring etc, how will we ever know that if we are not mechanics? How can we also check that the failed injector they give you back in return is still working, i heard it's electronic. Are there repair shops for electronic injectors?
