If I were you I would immediately check your spare wheel well for screen wash leakage.

My 03 Avant had this problem, and when I looked in the wheel well it was full of screen wash! Took me ages to bail it out and dry it.

Turned out the pipe had come off the end of the nozzle and screen wash was p***ing into the boot every time I tried the washer!

Got my local independent garage to fix it for about £30.

    Go check it now!

Glad to hear it's dry- it uses the same bottle front and back.

The only thing I can think of is a blocked washer jet. Is your front washer ok?

Just a quick thought- in addition to checking the boot, did you also check under the spare wheel? My boot looked dry, but it was only on checking the spare wheel well that I found all the water!

You can also try cleaning out the nozzles on the actual wiper with a pin. They can get blocked up with gunk. If you do have to take of the trim on the boot lid there is 4 bolts, 2 in the warning triangle stowage and 2 near the outer edge, all on the under side. Then there is just clips holding the trim on. These clips will be very stiff and a pain to push back in. But you should be able to lift trim enough to have a look with out popping the clips out.

Mine got blocked up so I just used a needle to clear it out. It works off the reservoir in the engine bay.
